Nexus Underwriting in Madrid is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Assistant to support underwriting and work with international teams and partners in Spain and abroad. The role emphasizes analytical skills, strong communication, and economic insight in a dynamic, international environment.

You will enter quotation details, issue indicative and renewal quotes, maintain broker relations, support audits, and contribute to tool improvement.

Formación

• University degree in economics or comparable qualification.
• Excellent Spanish and business-fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Analytical mindset, initiative, and a precise working style.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with a strong commercial focus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• International experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of Italian or Spanish is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Enter quotation details into underwriting systems per instructions.
• Issue indicative and renewal quotations per Underwriting Support Team Manager.
• Maintain contact with brokers regarding renewals and assist with enquiries.
• Follow up on broker queries and information requests.
• Keep underwriting systems, filing systems, and document repository up to date.
• Assist with internal audits.

Are you looking for an exciting challenge in Commercial Underwriting , where you can contribute analytical skills, strong communication skills and your economic expertise in an international environment?

As a Commercial Underwriting Assistant, you will play a central role in Underwriting and work closely with our international teams and business partners in Spain and abroad. Responsibilities

• Enter quotation details into our underwriting systems, in accordance with Underwriters' instructions.
• Issue indicative quotations and renewal quotations, in accordance with the instructions of the Underwriting Support Team Manager.
• Maintain contact with brokers regarding renewals and assist with enquiries, as directed by the Underwriters.
• Follow up on and address outstanding broker queries and information requests.
• Ensure that our underwriting systems, electronic filing system, and document repository are kept up to date, with accurate and well-organized information.
• Assist with internal audits.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our tools and processes.

Requirements

• Completed university degree in economics or a comparable qualification
• Excellent Spanish skills and business-fluent English, both written and spoken
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• Analytical mindset, initiative, and a structured, precise working style
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, coupled with a strong commercial and business-focused approach.
• High willingness to learn, sense of responsibility, and team spirit
• Ability to stay organized and perform under pressure, even when handling multiple tasks
• Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally
• Initial work experience through internships or student jobs, as well as international experience, is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of Italian or Spanish is an advantage – but not a requirement
