AESC is expanding its footprint in Extremadura, Spain, and seeks a Cost & Contract Manager to lead commercial management for major construction packages across EPC contracts. The role demands extensive cost engineering, contract administration, and strong experience with Spanish procurement practices.

Responsibilities include change orders, tender support, and collaboration with Legal, Procurement, and Cost teams to ensure project value and risk control throughout the lifecycle.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Minimum 8 years in cost engineering/cost control/contract management.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial plants.
• Experience with Spanish contractors and in Spain.
• Strong understanding of Spanish construction law.
• Experience with cost forecasting, reporting and change/claims management.
• Proficient in Excel and cost management tools such as Presto.

Role Purpose

As a Cost & Contract Manager, you will lead the commercial and contractual management of major construction packages, ensuring contractual compliance, minimizing commercial risks, and maximizing project value throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires solid experience in large-scale industrial projects and a deep understanding of cost estimation, control, and monitoring for civil works and MEP disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and contractual management of major construction and EPC contracts.
• Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Evaluate, negotiate and manage change orders, variations and claims.
• Support tendering activities, bid evaluations and contract negotiations.
• Monitor contractor performance from a commercial perspective.
• Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
• Collaborate with Project Controls and Cost teams to monitor budgets and forecast commercial impacts.
• Prepare commercial reports and recommendations for project leadership.
• Liaise with Legal, Procurement and external stakeholders on contractual matters.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution strategies.
• Support on the implementation of the full-cycle dynamic cost management for infrastructure projects, including regular cost statistics, risk monitoring and early warning.
• Establish and maintain the company’s engineering cost database to support project cost benchmarking.
• Supervise the on-site implementation of project budgets, participate in overall project cost control, and ensure effective delivery of project target cost indicators.
• Assist in coordinating daily cost management work of company infrastructure projects, and optimize and sort out relevant business processes.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Engineering Cost, Engineering Management or other related majors.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Minimum 8 years of working experience in cost engineering, cost control, contract management, commercial management, or quantity surveying.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial plants, or process facilities (highly advantageous)
• Exposure to multinational environments
• Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, and contract administration in industrial settings
• Proven experience working on construction, infrastructure, or industrial/manufacturing projects
• Proven experience working in Spain or with Spanish contractors/subcontractors
• Strong understanding of Spanish construction law or industrial bespoke contracts
• Experience in cost forecasting, cost reporting, and change/claims management
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and cost management tools (e.g., Presto or similar) and Microsoft Office suite for data analysis and document output.
