Overview

Cloud Application Architect

In order for applications to be fully optimized, they need to be architected to take advantage of the global scale, elasticity, automation and high availability features of the cloud. On the AWS platform, services such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, Kinesis, AI and others provide opportunities to design and build cloud-ready applications.

Responsibilities

• Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development and AWS teams
• Lead technical and design discussions with IT executives to help enterprises speed their adoption of new technologies and practices
• Architect and build highly scalable, cloud-native applications on the platform using core developer services like API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB and ECS / EKS
• Leverage new technology paradigms (e.g., serverless, containers, microservices)
• Migrate monolithic applications to microservices architectures
• Advise on implementing best practices
• Influence by sharing development expertise
• Represent the voice for developers internally and influence Professional Services offerings and product strategy for developers by working with platform engineering, Business Development and other cross-functional teams

Our Consultants work with customers locally, regionally and potentially domestically. As such, Consultants must have the ability to travel to client locations to deliver professional services as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3)
• Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in IT implementation
• Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
• Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
