Corpag in Madrid or Barcelona seeks a Client Accounting Officer to service a portfolio of client entities, primarily Spanish entities, ensuring accurate financial administration and compliance with local regulations.

You will work with a local accounting team in Madrid or Barcelona and connect with Corpag's global accounting network, balancing local execution with international standards and cross-border collaboration.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP, local tax, and regulatory requirements; international group structures desirable.
• Experience providing administrative services to a portfolio of clients or multiple legal entities with ownership and accountability.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, with effective communication to local and international stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Provide administrative services to a dedicated portfolio of client entities, primarily Spanish legal entities.
• Act as point of contact for clients, maintaining relationships and providing financial insights.
• Support preparation and review of statutory financial statements under Spanish GAAP.
• Ensure full compliance with local tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements; coordinate with external advisors.
• Participate in month-, quarter-, and year-end closing processes for client entities.
• Bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting within the local Spain team.
• Collaborate with international stakeholders and global accounting teams on group reporting.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to standardized workflows within local and global teams.
• Support growth and development of the Spain office and onboarding of new clients.

How we see you:

As Client Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for servicing a portfolio of client entities, primarily consisting of Spanish legal entities, many of which form part of complex international group structures. You will act as the point of contact for your clients, ensuring high-quality financial services, compliance, and advisory support.

You will operate as part of a small, close-knit local accounting team in Madrid or Barcelona. In this setting, you are expected to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating high level service delivery, accountability, and a hands‑on approach.

At the same time, you will be closely integrated into our wider global accounting team. This provides you with access to international expertise, standardized processes, and cross‑border collaboration, enabling you to deliver consistent and high-quality services to clients with multinational operations.The role requires a professional who is comfortable balancing local execution with global alignment, willing to learn how to navigate international structures, and motivated to contribute both to the development of the Spain office and to the wider global team.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are:

• Provide administrative services to a dedicated portfolio of client entities, primarily Spanish legal entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial administration.
• Act as point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing financial insights and support.
• Support the preparation and review of statutory financial statements in accordance with Spanish GAAP and relevant regulations.
• Ensure full compliance with local tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, coordinating with external advisors where needed.
• Participate in month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes for client entities.
• Bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting performed within the local Spain team.
• Collaborate with international stakeholders and global accounting teams aligned on group reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to the development of efficient, standardized workflows within the local and global teams.
• Support the growth and development of the Spain office by contributing to team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and potential onboarding of new clients.

What we like to see:

Ideally, you bring the following experience and interests with you:

• Accounting background, preferably holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, ideally within some exposure to an international or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP and local tax and regulatory requirements; experience with international group structures is highly desirable.
• Proven experience providing administrative services to a portfolio of clients or multiple legal entities, with a high level of ownership and accountability.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders.
