ALOHAS is hiring its first full-time CTO to own technology end to end. You will shape vision, architecture, and the platforms that run the business—from Shopify and Odoo to data and AI agents—and build a small, high-impact team.

You’ll partner with the CEO and COO to steer technology decisions across EU/UK/US, drive a pragmatic, product-led engineering culture, and propel the company toward an AI-native operating model from Barcelona.

At ALOHAS we're building an AI-native company. Technology isn't a support function — it's the foundation of how the whole business runs: product, brand, growth, finance and operations.

We're hiring our first full-time CTO to own our technology end to end — vision, architecture, the platforms that run the business (Shopify, Odoo, data, AI agents) and the team that builds them.

We care far more about how you think, build and lead than about your title. If you've been a Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering Director, or Staff/Principal Engineer at a high-growth product company (marketplace, SaaS, e-commerce) and you're ready to own technology end to end and make it yours — this is for you.

It's a high-ownership role: you set the direction and you're accountable for delivery, leading a lean internal team plus our AI Software Crafter and specialized partners. You'll work hand in hand with the CEO and COO (who builds business logic hands-on with AI tools) and keep ALOHAS at the frontier of an AI-native way of operating.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Set the technical vision & architecture. Own a clean, modular architecture for a multi-entity, cross-border business (EU/UK/US). Make the calls on build vs. buy vs. partner, and keep complexity low.
• Go deep on AI-native. Own the AI agent strategy and orchestration (LLMs, MCP, tool integrations). Turn experiments into production systems that move real business metrics — not demos.
• Own the platform that runs the business. Shopify (e-commerce, retail, marketplace), the B2B/wholesale stack, and their integration with Odoo ERP, data and logistics — a genuinely omnichannel, event-driven system.
• Make data a strategic asset. A reliable, centralized data platform (GCP/BigQuery, modern ETL) feeding analytics and decisions across B2C, B2B and Retail.
• Build and lead the team. Structure and grow a small, high-leverage engineering team; enable the AI Software Crafter and partners; set a delivery-driven culture with light, effective governance (standards, testing, CI/CD, sensible tech-debt management).

YOU WILL ROCK AT THIS ROLE IF...

• Have led engineering at a high-growth product company — as a Senior EM / Eng Director / Staff+ — and are ready to own technology end to end.
• Are hands-on and modern: cloud-native (GCP ideally), API-first / event-driven systems, solid data architecture — you still get into the details.
• Have real, recent AI/LLM experience — agents, RAG, LLMs in production — not just an interest in it.
• Think product-first: you optimize for user and business impact, not tech for its own sake.
• Scale through others: you build, but you also grow people and orchestrate partners.
• Fashion / retail / e-commerce and Shopify / ERP exposure is a strong plus (not a hard requirement).
• Are pragmatic and frugal — clarity over complexity, simplicity and resilience over gold-plating.
• Are based in Barcelona (hybrid) and fluent in English and Spanish.
