A leading cosmetics firm is seeking a Business Development Manager for EMEA to manage and expand the distributor network. This position requires a proven track record in distributor management and a minimum of 5 years’ international experience, preferably in the hair care or cosmetics industry. The ideal candidate will travel frequently, possess strong negotiation and communication skills, and work well in multicultural teams. The role is fully remote for EMEA candidates or hybrid for those in Barcelona.

We are currently present in more than 50 countries through an exclusive network of distributors in the professional channel, and we have a strong expansion plan to conquer the world with our brands.

In order to roll out and develop our international business, we are in need of an experienced

Business Development Manager for EMEA

to find, select, onboard new distributors and manage our existing distribution network in this region for the brands Montibello Haircare and Montibello Skincare driving sales and increasing market share.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven distributor management track record, ideally in the professional hair care or beauty industry who is already well connected and eager to grow new high-potential brands and is willing to travel at least 50% of their time.

The candidate is a commercial talent, passionate, self-driven, can work in a team but also independently, is strategic and hands-on. The Business Development Manager reports to the International Business Director.

This is a fully remote position for candidates based in any country within the EMEA region, and a hybrid working model for those living in Barcelona Greater Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities :

Manage and expand the distributor network of Montibello brand throughout the EMEA region by selecting, defining, managing, and calibrating distributors. Monitor DT landscape in countries of responsibility.

Provide, together with the Marketing and Education Manager, distributor specific programs needed to assist and grow the market with the main distributors and their team.

Achievement of quantitative and qualitative Brand and Market defined objectives and targets, by Distributor (NES, Mkt&Ed Budget, profitability, forecasting accuracy, market share within their portfolio)

Implementation of annual plans by brand (covering sales, marketing and education) for the specific distributors and their markets

Motivate, inform and educate distributors and their staff on product innovation and / or promotional activities with assistance from brand teams.

Manage distributor order flows with Supply Chain team, payments and forecasting.

Report on sell-ins, sell-outs and effectiveness of market strategies.

Responsible for providing regular internal and external management reports and reviews on customer and territory progress against defined goals and business metrics.

Monitors general developments in respective local markets including upcoming fashion trends, new product developments, competitive activities, potential trademark infringements or challenges and diversion issues.

Frequent in-country / salon visits with distributor sales teams to provide advice / training on the job.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate :

University degree in commercial economics or sales, or related field.

A minimum of 5 years’ international experience in a B2B environment, preferably in the professional hair care industry or a related industry such as cosmetics or fashion.

Willingness to travel 50% + of your time.

A good command of written and spoken English, additional language skills such as Spanish, French or Italian would be highly valued.

An enthusiastic personality, an energetic attitude, a good sense of humor and a positive mindset.

Strong relationship building and negotiating skills with excellent abilities in communication, presentation and project management.

Well-developed analytical and pragmatic skills.

Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Results-driven problem-solver with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset. Demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a strategic perspective.

Ability to work in multi-functional / cultural teams and have active listening, empathy as well as good social skills.
