PROJECT DESCRIPTION

At Avalanche Laboratory, we are a mature IT consulting partner renowned for reliable, long‑term collaborations and customized solutions for enterprise clients in banking, government, and more. We are now seeking a seasoned Business Analyst Consultant to join a transformative enterprise banking program.

This is a key consulting role—not an in‑house position—where your expertise will help business stakeholders and IT/data engineering teams speak the same language. You’ll play a crucial part in driving data‑driven transformation, ensuring business requirements are captured, understood, and materialized into robust, compliant, and future‑proof solutions.

You’ll join an experienced Agile (SAFe) team of around 10 consultants, directly impacting how the bank manages, analyzes, and secures its most critical business data.

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to release.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in banking or finance, with strong knowledge of financial products, business processes, and IT systems.
  • Proven Requirements Engineering skills—eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing both functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Strong Business and Data Process Modeling skills—capable of clearly mapping out processes and logical data flows to support sound decision‑making.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement skills—facilitating workshops, managing cross‑team discussions, and translating business needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • SQL and data analysis proficiency—comfortable querying, validating, and analyzing data to confirm requirements and generate insights.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory reporting and experience working with enterprise banking core systems and data warehouses, with particular emphasis on:
  • Knowledge of the regulatory reporting landscape and experience reviewing and mapping reg repo reports.
  • Familiarity with key banking platforms such as Onebank and CDWH, with technical and business expertise in their data structures and integration points.
  • Hands‑on experience establishing data lineage and simplifying reporting‑related data flows.
  • Technical and business understanding of major bank‑wide data integration and consolidation platforms.
Additional Knowledge
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting concepts.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence, or similar).
Professional Traits
  • Big‑picture thinking—understanding how process changes ripple across interconnected systems.
  • Change management awareness—supporting smooth transition and adoption during business and IT transformation.
  • Proactive consulting mindset—spotting improvement opportunities and driving them end‑to‑end.
  • Adaptability—enjoying fast‑paced, evolving program environments with changing priorities and technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Be the trusted advisor between business and IT, ensuring solution alignment with architecture and technology roadmaps.
  • Support design, testing, and delivery, ensuring requirements are correctly implemented throughout the lifecycle.
  • Contribute to data quality initiatives, metadata management, and end‑to‑end delivery, collaborating with engineers from multiple disciplines.
  • Bring fresh ideas, continuously improve processes, and help modernize enterprise banking platforms.
Job Highlights
