Job summary

BASE life science is seeking a Business Analyst to translate pharma business needs into user stories and participate in IT implementation projects for top clients in Spain (Madrid/Barcelona) or Denmark (Copenhagen). The role sits in the Data and Analytics practice, combining pharma knowledge with technology to maximize value from digital platforms.

You should have 2+ years of IT BA experience in life science, with data visualization skills (Qlik preferred; Power BI/Tableau), English

As our next Business Analyst, you will contribute to solving meaningful challenges across the life sciences industry. We offer specialised management consulting services, working with top-tier life sciences companies as well as biotech startups — locally and globally. From strategy development to hands‑on implementation, we support our clients where impact matters most.

About the role

We are seeking Business Analysts with at least 2 years of experience in implementing IT solutions in life science companies. Your main task will be to translate our pharma customers business needs into user stories and technology and to participate in implementation projects for high profile clients – from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate has successfully completed the first IT projects and is ready to specialise in delivering complex projects.

The position is placed in the Data and Analytics practice area within BASE, which combines highly specialised business knowledge of the pharma commercial domain with in‑depth technology expertise to maximise the value creation from the digital platform of our clients.

Your responsibilities include:

As a minimum, we expect you to have 2 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst within life science, specifically:

• Deep hands‑on understanding of the commercial processes in life science companies.
• Successful track record of participating in IT projects in a life science company.
• Proven experience in data visualization tools: Qlik (preferred), Power BI, Tableau or similar.
• Understanding of relational databases concepts and big data technologies.
• Problem solving and critical thinking mindset to support our clients’ analytics challenges and ambition to become data driven companies.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to structure tasks and sense of details.
• Ability to run workshops, documentation & customer alignments in English. French and German are a high plus!
• Strong Team spirit to contribute to project success as a great Team player.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate also has:

• A BSc or MSc from a leading university in e.g., computer science, information technology, or engineering or similar experience.
• Practical experience with agile and waterfall project management.
• Proven experience with implementing cloud solutions.
• Understanding of GxP is a plus.
• Knowledge of Veeva, IQVIA and/or Salesforce solutions is a plus.
• Ability to structure and present complex situations to a set of various stakeholders including executive levels

Lastly, we expect you to be willing to continuously build knowledge in the IT solutions and business areas where BASE is a leader, as we desire like‑minded people who are curious and constantly seek new knowledge.
