A leading mobility solutions provider in Barcelona is seeking a BU Purchasing Commodity Professional to manage purchasing strategies and supplier relationships. You will be responsible for sourcing processes, technical negotiations, and commodity risk management. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical or Plastic Engineering and has experience in an industrial environment. This role emphasizes communication, leadership, and a strong customer-oriented approach.

Formación

  • Degree in Mechanical or Plastic Engineering or business background in purchasing management.
  • Experience as a commodity buyer in an industrial and international environment.
  • Knowledge of purchasing strategy management.

Missions
  • In charge of the purchasing strategies for the supplier range, identifying market opportunities (economic, technological, geographical).
  • Responsible for the sourcing process according to plant & project needs, observing deontology rules and objectives set in terms of quality, cost and delivery.
  • In charge of the “order to pay” process: verify that spent authorization rules are respected, set up necessary orders and contracts, and track conditions of application. Ensure suppliers are paid on negotiated terms.
  • Manage crisis situations with suppliers when necessary.
Activities
  • Propose commodity strategy and manage the supply base accordingly.
  • Responsible for market analysis (benchmark, professional fairs, market trends, innovation).
  • Manage supplier relationships according to PO purchasing policy.
  • Follow and report supplier performance.
  • Lead the suppliers sourcing process in respect of procedures.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Manage contractualization with suppliers.
  • Be responsible for commodity in terms of Q, C, T.
  • Promote technical savings proposed by suppliers.
  • Participate or lead internal working groups for technical savings identification or problem solving.
  • Lead problem solving processes when necessary.
  • Responsible for risk management of the commodity (financial health of suppliers, M&A, dependence ratio).
  • Commit & manage portfolio in line with budget.
  • Respect legal & environmental rules applicable in markets.
Competences required
  • Mechanical or Plastic Engineering Degree or business background with specialty in purchasing management.
  • Depending on the commodity, a previous experience as a commodity buyer could be required in an industrial & international environment.
  • Knowledge of markets, purchasing, and commodity strategy management.
  • Technical negotiations, commerce, and commercial laws knowledge.
  • Project management.
  • Finance & cash management.
