Flomics Biotech in Barcelona is seeking a Bioinformatics Senior Scientist to join our growing team. You will help develop pipelines for early cancer diagnosis using RNA-seq, apply machine learning, and contribute to publications and regulatory submissions.

You should have a PhD in bioinformatics or related field with 3+ years postdoc or industry experience, Python and R expertise, and experience with Nextflow or other workflow tools. Fluency in English is required.

• Proven track record in NGS data analysis (RNA-seq).
• Proficiency in Python and R.
• Experience with workflow management systems (Nextflow is a plus).
• Solid background in genomics, biostatistics, and machine learning.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• A publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, optimize, and maintain pipelines for NGS data analysis, focusing on RNA-seq.

We are looking for aBioinformatics Senior Scientistto join our growing team inBarcelona. Reporting to the Bioinformatics Lead, you will help us develop new pipelines for the early diagnosis and screening of complex diseases such as cancer. We hope to find someone with a start-up spirit who is highly motivated to be a part of a project that will revolutionize early cancer diagnosis and improve people’s quality of life.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain pipelines for NGS data analysis, with a focus on RNA-seq.

• Perform large-scale data mining, integration, and interpretation of genomics datasets.

• Apply machine learningand statistical approaches to identify novel biomarker signatures.

• Write and maintainefficient, reproducible, and well-documented code in Bash, Python, and R.

• Assist in the developmentof software and custom scripts to automate data input, retrieval, processing, and analysis.

• Contribute to the preparationof patents, scientific publications, and regulatory submissions.

What We Are Looking For:

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, or a related field, and3+ yearsof postdoctoral or industry experience.

• Proven track recordin NGS data analysis (especially RNA-seq).

• Proficiencyin Python and R.

• Experiencewith workflow management systems (Nextflow is a plus).

• Solid backgroundin genomics, biostatistics, and machine learning.

• Familiaritywith Linux environments.

• A publication recordin peer-reviewed journals.

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

• Fluentin English.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud infrastructures (AWS is a plus).
• Experience in deep learning and advanced ML methods.
• Hands-on experience in Nextflow development.
• Solid experience in software development and engineering best practices.
