DKB Code Factory GmbH is seeking a QA Engineer to drive quality across backend services and APIs. You will design, implement, and expand automated test coverage, collaborating with developers, product stakeholders, and fellow engineers to prevent defects early and advocate for testing excellence within an agile team.

You’ll ensure test readiness across environments, contribute to CI/CD practices, and help deliver reliable software with confidence in a learning-first tech hub.

Formación

• Experience in software quality assurance and test automation for backend systems; strong understanding of testing principles and risk-based testing.
• Hands-on experience with backend testing and API validation (REST), including integration, contract, component, and end-to-end testing.
• Programming experience with Java, Kotlin, or comparable technologies; eager to improve testing practices and automation coverage.
• Familiarity with SQL and database validation, test environments, data management, mocking, and service virtualization.
• Experience with Serenity, REST Assured, JUnit, contract testing (e.g. Pact), WireMock, Jira Xray, GitLab is a plus.
• Collaborative and proactive problem-solving approach; ability to communicate in cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in English.

• Design, implement, and expand automated test coverage across backend services and API layer (integration, contract, component, end-to-end).
• Collaborate with developers and product stakeholders to identify risks, clarify requirements, and prevent defects early.
• Analyze test failures and defects, support root-cause analysis, and identify quality improvements.
• Share regular testing insights, results, and quality metrics with stakeholders to support release decisions.
• Contribute to Continuous Testing and Continuous Delivery practices to balance quality and speed.

As a QA Engineer, you'll be the quality advocate within your team, helping shape testing practices, drive automation efforts, and ensure that reliable software is delivered with confidence. You'll work closely with developers, product stakeholders, and fellow engineers to build quality into every stage of the delivery process.

• Own and continuously improve the team's testing approach for our backend services and APIs, becoming the go-to person for testing topics in an agile environment.
• Ensure test readiness across infrastructure, environments, and test data to enable smooth and reliable execution.
• Design, implement, and expand automated test coverage across our backend services and API layer, including integration, contract, component , and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate closely with developers and product stakeholders to identify risks, clarify requirements, and prevent defects early in the development lifecycle.
• Analyze test failures and defects, support root-cause analysis, and identify recurring quality issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Share regular testing insights, results, and quality metrics with stakeholders, supporting informed release decisions.
• Contribute to Continuous Testing and Continuous Delivery practices, helping the team improve quality while maintaining delivery speed.

• Experience in software quality assurance and test automation for backend systems, with a strong understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and risk-based testing.
• Hands-on experience with backend testing and API validation (REST), including different testing levels and approaches such as integration, contract, component , and end-to-end testing.
• Programming experience with Java, Kotlin, or comparable technologies, with an interest in continuously improving testing practices and automation coverage.
• Familiarity with SQL and database validation, as well as test environments, test data management, mocking, and service virtualization.
• Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: Serenity, REST Assured, JUnit, contract testing ( e.g. Pact), WireMock , Jira Xray, GitLab.
• A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to communicate effectively in cross-functional environments.
• Fluency in English.
