Marosa by Wolters Kluwer in Vigo, Spain is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. You will build and maintain backend systems powering our tax-tech products used by multinational clients, collaborating with experienced engineers.

The role emphasizes Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, plus Docker and CI/CD; you will tackle performance, reliability, and security while contributing to code reviews and deployment processes.

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will contribute to building and maintaining the backend systems that power our core products used by multinational clients, working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and evolve RESTful APIs consumed by internal and external clients.
• Work on system architecture, performance, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and actively participate in code reviews.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and backend best practices.
• Learn from experienced colleagues and grow within a strong engineering culture.

What We Are Looking For

• Around 3-5 years of professional experience as a Backend or Fullstack Engineer, with a clear focus on backend development.
• Solid knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and common backend architecture patterns.
• Experience working with REST APIs.
• Understanding of scalable systems, data consistency, and performance considerations.
• A proactive attitude, ownership of your work, and strong communication skills in a collaborative environment.
• Interest in continuous learning and improving both individual and team performance.

Bonus:

• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud-native environments.
• Exposure to distributed systems or microservices architectures.
