Trading-21 is seeking Senior Backend Engineers to join Europe’s fastest-growing mobile broker. You will own backend solutions end to end within a microservices environment, translating complex problems into durable, production-ready services.

Work across teams to design for performance, scale and data integrity. You’ll contribute to a modern stack (Java, Go, Node.js, PostgreSQL) and help evolve services that power millions of clients.

Formación

• Proven ownership of backend services in microservices.
• Strong grasp of HTTP, WebSockets, AMQP.
• Production fluency in at least one modern backend framework.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases and indexing.
• Track record designing scalable, highly available systems.
• Clear structured problem solving and trade-off explanations.
• Strong fundamentals and willingness to learn new tech.

About the role

Senior Backend Engineers work across our backend organisation. Your team match will reflect your strengths, interests and where you can contribute most.

Across every team, the model is the same: small, autonomous groups, short release cycles and ownership from problem definition through production.

What you’ll do

• Own backend solutions end to end: understand the business problem, shape the requirements, design the solution, build it, test it, deploy it and run it in production.

• Design and evolve services for performance, scale, resilience and data integrity.

• Make clear technical decisions with a full understanding of the constraints, alternatives and trade-offs.

• Keep code and systems maintainable as products and requirements evolve.

• Diagnose difficult production problems, address their underlying causes and prevent recurrence.

• Work closely with product and engineering colleagues to turn complex requirements into simple, durable solutions.

• Review work critically, share knowledge and raise the engineering standard across the team.

What you need to have

• Proven ownership of backend services built and operated within a microservices architecture.

• A strong grasp of communication protocols such as HTTP, WebSockets and AMQP, including when to apply each.

• Production fluency in at least one modern backend framework.

• Deep knowledge of relational databases, including indexing, transactions, isolation levels, locking mechanisms and high-performance design.

• A track record of designing systems for high availability, scalability and resilience.

• Clear, structured problem-solving and the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs.

• Strong engineering fundamentals, sound judgement and confidence learning unfamiliar technologies.

Depth in one backend ecosystem and sound tool choice matter more than familiarity with every technology listed.
