EPAM Systems is seeking a Cloud Database Platform Engineer in Madrid to help migrate on-premises databases to Azure, enable automation, and support modern data layers. You'll partner with application teams to design scalable, compliant database solutions in a private banking technology context.

This hybrid role in Madrid city center focuses on Azure SQL, Oracle on Azure, PostgreSQL migrations, and building self-service capabilities.

Formación

• 5–7 years hands-on experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience migrating databases from on-premises to Azure database services.
• Strong understanding of database fundamentals across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Experience designing automated, self-service database capabilities using Infrastructure as Code or platform tooling.
• DevOps mindset with “you build it, you run it” approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management for working across teams.

Responsabilidades

• Support Agile Release Trains and product teams onboarding to Azure database services (Azure SQL, Oracle on Azure, PostgreSQL).
• Assess on-premises Oracle and MS SQL databases, analyze migration feasibility and define migration strategies.
• Drive migrations to Azure DB offerings and support transformation to PostgreSQL where feasible.
• Act as a technical bridge between application teams and Azure platform teams.
• Introduce automation and self-service patterns for database operations and provisioning.
