Job summary

MatchMatch is partnering with an early-stage European defence-tech company building autonomous robotic systems for real-world environments. The role focuses on aerial robotics and counter-drone systems, combining robotics, AI, perception, embedded software and hardware to create autonomous systems that perform beyond lab conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience in robotics or autonomous systems.
• Hands-on experience with C++ and Python.
• Practical experience using ROS2 for robotics development.
• Experience with Gazebo and/or NVIDIA Isaac for simulation.
• Good understanding of robotics software architecture and component interactions.
• Experience integrating software with physical robotic platforms.
• Ability to take ownership of complex engineering problems and deliver reliable solutions.
• Comfortable working in English within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software that enables autonomous robotic systems to perceive, navigate and operate in complex environments.
• Build scalable and reliable robotics software using C++, Python and ROS2 across the autonomy stack.
• Develop and improve simulation workflows with Gazebo and/or NVIDIA Isaac for sim-to-real.
• Work closely with perception, controls, embedded and hardware engineers to ensure cohesive system operation.
• Participate in integration, debugging, validation and testing on physical robotic systems.
• Take responsibility for work from design through deployment and contribute to technical decisions as the product evolves.
