Savant Network is seeking an Automation Engineer in Catalonia, Spain, to develop, commission and support automated industrial systems for international projects. The role blends PLC programming, machine commissioning and remote and on-site customer support in a highly technical, engineering-driven environment.

You will work with PLC/SCADA software, integrate third-party equipment and drive ongoing improvements across complex machinery, while traveling ~30-40% to international sites.

Formación

• Degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics or related technical field.
• Solid experience in industrial automation and PLC programming.
• Strong experience with CODESYS.
• Practical experience with SCADA/HMI systems.
• Knowledge of PROFIBUS, PROFINET, CAN and Industrial Ethernet.
• Experience with servo drives, motion control and frequency converters.
• Experience programming and commissioning industrial machinery.
• Experience integrating machine vision/inspection camera systems is highly valued.

We are supporting an established international industrial machinery company in the search for an Automation Engineer to join its engineering team.

The company designs, manufactures and provides technical support for highly automated industrial equipment used by customers across international markets. With a strong focus on technology, innovation and continuous improvement, the business operates in a highly technical, engineering-driven environment where automation plays a critical role in machine performance and customer satisfaction.

The Role

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, programming, commissioning and technical support of industrial automation systems and machinery.

This is a hands-on role combining PLC programming, machine commissioning, troubleshooting and customer technical support, with significant exposure to complex industrial equipment and international projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, design and program industrial automation systems.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics or a related technical discipline.
• Solid professional experience in industrial automation and PLC programming.
• Strong experience with CODESYS.
• Practical experience with SCADA/HMI systems.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as PROFIBUS, PROFINET, CAN and Industrial Ethernet.
• Experience with servo drives, motion control and frequency converters.
• Experience programming and commissioning industrial machinery.
• Experience integrating machine vision / inspection camera systems is highly valued.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience providing remote technical support.
• Fluent English; Spanish is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel internationally, approximately 30-40%.
