Job summary

European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks an Associate Sector Specialist – Critical Raw Materials to support due diligence and appraisal of mining and metals projects. You will work within the SCPI division of INCO and report to senior experts across the Projects Directorate, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure environmentally and financially sound investments.

Qualifications

  • University degree, minimum equivalent to a Bachelor, in Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance or another relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience related to minerals, metals, critical raw materials or other process industries.
  • Knowledge of industrial project analysis including technical, economic, financial, environmental, social and commercial aspects.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the technical, economic and financial assessment of investment projects in mining and critical raw materials.
  • Evaluate strategic consistency, viability and environmental and social sustainability of projects.
  • Support origination and early screening of investment opportunities with the Lending Directorate.
  • Appraise projects for financing, identify risks and contribute to evidence-based conclusions.
  • Prepare and validate appraisal reports and technical/financial opinions for governing bodies.
