Bryden Wood in Barcelona and Madrid is expanding its international team to deliver data centre and large-scale industrial projects.

We are seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead technical delivery, coordinate with Architecture, Structures, Civils, and Sustainability, and mentor junior staff.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience, preferably with Data Centre or mission critical Projects in Spain.
• Spanish and English: full professional fluency.
• Experience producing official submissions to Colegio de Ingenieros and local authorities.
• Solid experience on Large-Scale Industrial/Infrastructure projects; Data Centre experience highly valued.

Responsabilidades

• Lead Mechanical design for all project stages from Concept to Construction.
• Attend client meetings to present mechanical progress and coordinate technical decisions.
• Supervise and coordinate engineers and technicians, assign tasks and guide the team.
• Select mechanical equipment meeting energy efficiency, reliability and system compatibility.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for pump sizing, pressure drop, and flow control for chilled water.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish regulations and prepare submissions for professional bodies and authorities.
• Produce technical documents, reports and specifications; manage QA/QC and risk.
• Mentor junior engineers and liaise with senior management on escalations.

At Bryden Wood, we are expanding our teams in Barcelona and Madrid to work on large scale projects for the biggest names in "Big Tech" and the Industrial sector.

We are looking for a Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead the technical delivery of our Data Centre and large-scale industrial projects. THE ROLE

You will be the Mechanical lead of our projects in Spain as well as key member on other international projects, working closely with all the other disciplines (Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability) and clients to deliver innovative designs.

• Lead Mechanical technical design for all project stages (From Concept to Construction) including carrying out calculations, concept development, Project coordination, Risk management and project delivery.
• Attend regular client meetings to present progress on mechanical design activities, define and develop the mechanical strategy, and coordinate technical decisions with key project stakeholders.
• Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and ensuring team cohesion toward project goals.
• Identify and specify appropriate Mechanical equipment and components to meet project objectives, considering energy efficiency, reliability, redundancy, and system compatibility.
• Proficient in hydraulic system calculations, including pump sizing, pressure drop analysis, and flow control for chilled water applications.
• Ensure full compliance with Spanish regulations.
• Produce official submissions for Spanish professional bodies (Colegio de Ingenieros) and local authorities.
• Produce technical documents, reports, specifications
• Manage project coordination, QA/QC procedures, and risk management.
• Mentor junior engineers and liaise with senior management on project escalations.

WHAT WE NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or equivalent.
• Must-Have: Deep knowledge of Spanish regulations (RSIF/RITE/CTE…).
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, preferable with previous experience in Data Centre or mission critical Projects in Spain.
• Experience producing and delivering official submissions to “Colegio de Ingenieros” and local authorities.
• Experience: Solid experience on Large-Scale Industrial/Infrastructure projects. Experience in Data Centre Projects will be highly valued. Note: If you have deep Industrial experience but are new to Data Centres, we want to hear from you.
• Language: Full professional fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
• Project management: Proven experience in electrical project management, with the ability to provide autonomous leadership and coordinate small teams of engineers
• Revit & Navisworks: Competent in the use of Revit and Navisworks
