A prestigious engineering school in Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain is looking for a tenured professor in Mechanical Engineering, starting September 2026. The role involves research, teaching, and academic management. Candidates should hold a PhD and have a strong international research record. Teaching will be conducted in both Spanish and English. This is a full-time tenure track position, with opportunities for permanent appointment after evaluation.
As a member of the academic staff, the candidate will contribute to the University of Navarra’s three core tasks: research, education and management. Thus, his/her role will consist primarily of basic and applied research (50%), lecturing (40%), and services and management (10%).
Candidates will be expected to hold a relevant doctoral level research degree, and a distinguished academic record including international research, demonstrating appropriate markers of academic recognition. Specifically for this position is required:
The Machines and Vehicles Research Group at Tecnun is a multidisciplinary team with an extensive experience in analysis and design of machines and mechanisms, both by experimental methods and analytical and numerical calculation, including the dynamics aspects like vibration transmission and fatigue tests. The School of Engineering (Tecnun) ( tecnun.unav.edu ) has 1,200 students and is located in Donostia-San Sebastián, a beautiful city in the north of Spain, on the Basque coast. As an academic institution, we develop basic research in several fields of engineering, but we also carry out applied research in collaboration with Ceit ( www.ceit.es ), a non-profit research center that was created by the University of Navarra in 1982.
