DSM-Firmenich in Barcelona is seeking a Data Science Apprentice for Finance to turn data into insights that support better decisions. You will collaborate with finance and data teams to prepare datasets, build models, automate analysis, and visualize trends, creating agents while developing hands-on experience in analytics, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.

Formación

• Interest in finance, data science, analytics, forecasting and business decision support.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, SQL and Python; familiarity with GenAI/LLMs.
• Ability to clean, reconcile, validate data with attention to accuracy.
• Curiosity to explore trends and root causes, turning findings into insights.
• Collaborative communication with Finance, data and technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English; additional languages welcome.

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Join us as a Data Science Apprentice for Finance Domain, turning data into insights that support better decisions. You will work with finance and data teams to prepare datasets, build models, automate analysis, visualize trends, create agents while developing hands-on experience in analytics, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Work with Finance stakeholders to understand business questions and translate them into data analysis needs.
• Prepare, clean, reconcile, and validate financial and operational datasets using Excel, SQL, and Python, LLMs.
• Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track trends, anomalies, and key finance indicators.
• Support with agentic AI use case ideation and help set up and improve SQL to text agents.
• Investigate data discrepancies and document recurring patterns, root causes, and improvement actions.
• Be force of proposition to help the team automate processes (both from a developer perspective and a finance business stakeholder perspective).

You bring

• Strong interest in finance, data science, analytics, forecasting, and business decision support.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, SQL, and Python. Gen AI/ SQL to Text, LLM …
• Ability to clean, reconcile, validate, and interpret data with strong attention to accuracy.
• Curiosity and creativity to explore trends, anomalies, and root causes, and turn findings into clear insights.
• Collaborative communication skills to work with Finance, data, and technical stakeholders across locations.
