Capitole is seeking an AI Tech Lead to join a strategic AI program in a large international environment. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with technical leadership, guiding a cross-functional AI squad of up to 6 engineers to shape architecture, standards, and delivery of production-ready AI solutions on Microsoft Azure.

The role focuses on Generative AI, RAG, LLM-powered applications, and scalable backend systems.

Formación

• Senior or lead engineer with hands-on AI/Software Engineering background.

About the role

We are looking for an AI Tech Lead to join a strategic AI program within a large international environment.

In this role, you will combine hands‑on technical expertise with technical leadership, leading a cross-functional AI squad of up to 6 engineers and helping shape the architecture, engineering standards, and delivery of production‑ready AI solutions.

The main focus will be on Generative AI, RAG, LLM‑powered applications, scalable backend systems, and cloud‑native AI solutions on Microsoft Azure.

You will work closely with Product Owners, Data Scientists, frontend developers, business teams, and other technical stakeholders to turn business needs into robust, scalable, and reliable AI products.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the technology while also acting as a technical reference point for the team, driving engineering quality, mentoring others, and taking ownership of architectural decisions.

What you’ll do

• Lead and coordinate a cross‑functional AI squad of up to 6 engineers, ensuring alignment on technical direction, priorities, and delivery timelines
• Define and enforce technical standards, engineering best practices, and architecture guidelines across the squad
• Design and oversee the development of scalable backend systems and APIs supporting AI‑powered applications
• Drive the design and implementation of RAG architectures and LLM‑based solutions
• Architect and validate cloud‑based AI solutions using Microsoft Azure
• Work with Azure services such as Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, and Azure Key Vault
• Ensure AI solutions are designed with scalability, security, maintainability, and production readiness in mind
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical mentoring, and support the upskilling of squad members
• Act as the technical interface between the engineering squad and stakeholders including Product Owners, Data Scientists, frontend developers, and business teams
• Define standards around performance, reliability, observability, monitoring, and high availability
• Support the resolution of complex technical issues and help remove engineering blockers
• Evaluate new approaches, frameworks, and technologies within the Generative AI and LLM ecosystem
• Translate emerging AI trends into practical and valuable initiatives for the squad and the business
• Strong experience in Software Engineering / AI Engineering, ideally in senior or technical leadership roles
• Previous experience acting as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or technical reference point within an engineering team
• Experience leading, mentoring, or technically coordinating software or AI engineers
• Hands‑on experience designing and delivering end‑to‑end AI solutions in cloud environments
• Strong experience with Generative AI and LLM‑based applications
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing RAG solutions
• Experience designing backend systems and scalable APIs
• Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure
• Familiarity with services such as Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, and/or Azure Key Vault
• Experience with production‑grade engineering concepts such as observability, monitoring, reliability, performance, and high availability
• Ability to conduct code reviews and provide technical mentoring
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders
• Ability to balance hands‑on engineering with technical leadership and ownership
• High level of English
• Experience with speech‑to‑text solutions
• Experience with computer vision
• Experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
• Experience with advanced prompt engineering techniques
• Knowledge of agentic AI architectures
• Experience evaluating and improving LLM‑based applications
• Familiarity with AI security, governance, and responsible AI practices
• Experience working in large‑scale enterprise environments
• Exposure to international and cross‑functional AI programs
