Job summary

Wizeline is hiring a backend software engineer to build and improve a translation platform, integrating AI/LLM translation capabilities into Dow Jones' content-processing ecosystem. You will create reliable APIs, support event-driven workflows, and collaborate with Dow Jones engineers on design, testing and deployment.

You should have strong Java/Spring Boot skills, REST/microservices experience, cloud familiarity, and CI/CD discipline.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java/Spring Boot backend development.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud-based development, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven systems.
• Experience applying LLM/AI to translation workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the translation platform and services.
• Integrate AI/LLM translation capabilities into Dow Jones' ecosystem.
• Build APIs and services for translation requests and results.
• Support event-driven processing and integration with content pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging, retries, and operational capabilities.
• Create automated tests and validation for translation workflows.
• Improve translation performance, scalability, and cost.
• Assist with deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on design and documentation.
• Contribute to platform evolution for future expansion and languages.
