Job summary

Allianz Partners seeks an Engineering Manager AI within Advanced Analytics to lead our AI engineering teams building agent-based and conversational AI services that power digital insurance products. You will own people management, hiring, resourcing, and delivery leadership, while senior engineers retain technical decisions.

The role focuses on shaping the people structure, capacity, and ways of working to ship production AI at scale.

Qualifications

8+ years engineering experience with at least 3 years in people management.
Experience leading 6–15 engineers across two teams or specialisations.
Strong technical literacy in the AI stack to mentor and challenge but not override technical leads.
Knowledge of LLM-based agent systems, prompt engineering, and agent design patterns.
Voice and conversational AI platforms: NLU/NLP, speech pipeline integration, dialogue management.
Production deployment of AI services on Kubernetes: API design, observability, latency and cost control.
Experience with embedded-specialist delivery models and governance processes.

Responsibilities

Manage and grow the AI teams across agent and voice surfaces.
Balance capacity and plan team sizing with senior leadership.
Coach technical leads in prompt engineering, NLU/NLP, and voice design while maintaining standards.
Coordinate AI governance reviews and compliance attestations.
Plan roadmaps and coordinate with backend and frontend delivery teams.
Run hiring loops with rubric-based interviews for AI roles.
Oversee delivery cadence and continuous improvement of the delivery flow.
