Alimak Group AB is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop and implement ML/AI solutions that enhance product safety and efficiency across the global operation. You will work with domain experts to turn ideas into deployable AI applications and dashboards using data from IoT devices and company systems.

The role focuses on developing internal AI tools, enabling Copilot/low-code/no-code AI solutions, and ensuring responsible AI practices across projects.

Formación

• Degree in software development or CS with ML specialization
• 1–3 years of data scientist/ML/AI engineer experience
• Proficient in Python with practical experience
• Strong knowledge of ML fundamentals and statistics
• Experience with full stack web development, APIs, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (Azure) and GitHub
• Experience with AI cloud services and building AI agent applications
• Experience with Docker and containerized apps

Design, develop, and implement machine learning (ML) models and artificial intelligence systems and solutions to improve business processes, enhance customer experiences, and drive innovation. The AI Engineer works closely with domain experts to identify opportunities for AI – ML applications and develop them from idea to full operation.

Key tasks & responsibilities:

• Analyse and build dashboards based on IoT data from products and company data in general (Finance, Operations, etc) to gain insights for decision makers
• Develop models that help predict use, wear, failure, demand, …
• Develop AI solutions that help develop more sustainable and safer products

AI powered tools for internal users

• Develop tools and applications (e.g. virtual assistants, agentic systems, ad-hoc applications) that help users find information, get answers fast and efficiently and automate processes increasing customer satisfaction
• Support and develop no-code, low-code and pro-code AI solutions, including Copilot/Copilot Studio-based agents, Teams-integrated AI tools and custom applications
• Support AI adoption by sharing knowledge and experience to level up the AI general knowledge and actively participating the company initiatives.

Health, safety & environment

• Develop tools that improve product users work safer and with less environmental impact
• Develop tools that positively impacts sustainable growth: improve quality, reduce costs and carbon footprint

Safety & Compliance

• Develop solutions that help mitigate or eliminate risks and improve safety
• Ensure compliance and contribute to overall responsible use of AI on every task and project

Qualifications & Competencies:

Skills & Knowledge & Experience

• Good working knowledge of Machine Learning / AI frameworks, libraries and tools
• Strong knowledge of machine learning and statistics fundamentals
• Proficient in Python with real practical experience
• Good working knowledge of full stack web development, CI/CD, APIs, Cloud infrastructure (Azure) and GitHub
• 1 – 3 year experience as data scientist, machine learning or artificial intelligence engineer
• 1 – 3 years of experience working collaboratively using software development tools, version control and Git/GitHub-based workflows.
• 1 – 3 years of experience working with AI cloud services, developing agentic systems, or building applications using AI agents, LLM frameworks and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in software development, computer science or other relevant to AI / ML. Other engineering degrees shall prove high computer science competences
• Essential: specialization on machine learning, deep learning, computer vision or data science
• Desired: Microsoft Azure (AI Foundry, Machine Learning, …), Microsoft M365 Copilot (Chat and Apps), Copilot Studio and other Microsoft solutions (SharePoint, Power Platform, Teams, etc) from a development point of view
• Valued: Linux based systems and container apps (Docker)
