Job summary

Sanofi is seeking a Data Engineer in Barcelona to build data foundations for an AI‑first organization. You will design scalable data pipelines, enable data access for scientists and business users, and drive best practices in CI/CD and testing within cross‑functional pods.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts and product teams to translate needs into robust technical solutions, while ensuring governance and security standards are met.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing or BI in cross‑functional teams.
• Strong programming and data tooling skills for building scalable pipelines.
• Experience with batch, near real‑time and streaming ingestion concepts.

Responsibilities

• Propose and establish technical designs that meet business and technical requirements.
• Build, optimize and maintain data and ETL pipelines, tested and production ready.
• Gather and organize large data assets and analyze them to unlock business value.
• Partner with business and product teams to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Promote best practices in code management, automated testing, CI/CD and deployments.
• Coach fellow data engineers and conduct peer reviews to ensure quality.
• Create clear documentation for knowledge transfer and maintenance.
• Contribute to Data Engineering community and define leading practices.
• Communicate results clearly to stakeholders while complying with data governance.
