Job summary

Adevinta's Kleinanzeigen unit in Barcelona seeks a Data Engineer (Analytics & Products) to design and build scalable data assets connecting high-traffic backends with user-focused analytics.

You will own ingestion through Airflow, transformation with dbt on Databricks, and ensure data quality, observability, and cost-conscious modelling. Strong SQL, Python, Spark, and stakeholder collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills with window functions and optimization.
• Proficiency with dbt across medallion architecture and model materialisation.
• Experience building and operating Airflow DAGs with Python operators.
• Strong Python and shell scripting for data pipelines.
• Fluency in lakehouse concepts (Delta Lake, Parquet, Avro).
• Ability to translate business requirements into data models.

Responsibilities

• Design data models aligned with the existing stack and cost-efficiency.
• Ingest and orchestrate data using Airflow DAGs end-to-end.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, and documentation.
• Ensure data quality with tests and semantic validation.
• Collaborate with analysts and product teams to enable self-serve data.
• Support AI-first engineering initiatives and responsible AI tooling.
