Job summary

Jobtailor is looking for an experienced accounting professional to independently manage bookkeeping under HGB for Germany and international entities, based in Barcelona. Qualifications

• Accounting qualifications including Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) or a Bachelor's/Master’s in Accounting
• At least 3 years of accounting experience in IT/software/cloud sectors
• Strong knowledge of German HGB and EU VAT law
• Experience with accruals, reconciliations, VAT, and year-end close
• Proficient with SAP Business One and MS Excel; Google Sheets a plus
• Fluent German with excellent written and spoken English

• Handle accounts receivable and payable: invoicing, payments, and collections
• Support monthly close, including accruals, deferrals, and account reconciliations
• Prepare and file VAT returns and other tax filings (e.g. EC Sales Lists, OSS)
• Support year-end close, tax audits, and collaboration with auditors and tax advisors
• Help optimise and digitise processes within the SAP ERP system
• Coordinate with other teams (e.g. Procurement, Legal, Controlling)

Qualifications

• A completed commercial apprenticeship plus certification as a Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) and/or a comparable qualification, e.g. a relevant degree (Bachelor's/Master's in Accounting)
• At least 3 years of accounting experience in the IT/software/cloud sector; experience in an international setting is a plus
• Strong knowledge of German commercial law (HGB) and EU VAT law
• Experience with accruals, reconciliations, VAT, and supporting year-end close and audits
• Confident with accounting software (SAP Business One) and MS Excel; experience with Google Sheets and other tools is a plus
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as working with tax advisors and auditors, is a plus
• A careful, structured, and self-directed way of working
• Fluent German and excellent written and spoken English (English is our company language)
