Job summary

Synergy Construction in Madrid seeks an Accountant with 3+ years' experience to manage accounts for construction projects and ensure compliance with Spanish PGC. The role collaborates with external advisors and handles invoicing, cash flow estimates, and purchase orders.

Fluency in Spanish and English is required, with meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills. The candidate must be located in Madrid and hold a valid work permit in Spain.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, or CPA qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably on international industrial/construction projects.
• Excellent knowledge of SAP software.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts for construction projects in accordance with Spanish PGC.
• Work with external advisors (accountants, tax and payroll).
• Verify invoices and invoice statements.
• Prepare invoices, estimate cash flow, and approve purchase orders.
• Analyze transactions and incorporate unforeseen costs into the budget.

We are looking for an Accountant with the following qualifications to be assigned to our company in Madrid.

We are looking for:

• University degree (BS/MS) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields, or Certified Public Accountant qualification
• Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably on international industrial/construction projects.
• Self-oriented, disciplined, and well-organized.
• Excellent knowledge of SAP software.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
• Solid analytical and mathematical skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Located in Madrid
• Holding a valid work permit in Spain

Job Description:

• Managing the accounts of related construction projects in accordance with Spanish PGC (Plan General Contable) to ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and standards
• Working closely with external advisors (fellow accountants, tax experts and payroll specialists)
• Verifying invoices and invoice statements
• Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and signing off on purchase orders.
• Analyzing all transactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget.
• Keeping a record of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes.
• Preparing cost analyses by interpreting projects' financial data and information.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers and doing regular reconciliations
• Performing regular reconciliations of all vendor and GL accounts
• Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the headquarters in Hungary
