About the team

At SumUp, we’ve built our success on helping micro and small merchants thrive. As our merchant base grows in volume and complexity, we’re scaling a dedicated Account Management function for High-Value Merchants (HVMs) .

This team manages the post-sales relationship with some of our most strategic merchants, acting as trusted advisors focused on retention, commercial growth, and multi-product adoption . You’ll work closely with leading businesses in the DACH region, spanning diverse sectors such as retail, hospitality, wellness, and more.

We’re looking for commercially driven, relationship-oriented professionals ready to drive value, uncover opportunities, and contribute to long-term merchant success.

What you’ll do

Manage a portfolio of High-Value Merchants in the DACH region

Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and business owners

Conduct structured Business Reviews to assess performance, unlock insights, and identify areas for growth

Lead commercial conversations focused on business value and product adoption

Identify and close cross-sell and upsell opportunities

Monitor merchant health using tools like Salesforce and Tableau, and act proactively on churn signals

Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Support, and Operations to improve the overall merchant experience

Play a key role in shaping how SumUp supports its largest and most complex merchants

You’ll be great for this role if

You have 2–4 years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, or B2B commercial roles (experience in a fintech environment is a plus)

You’re confident managing strategic clients and leading high-impact conversations

You approach relationships with a consultative mindset , aiming to solve problems and drive mutual value

You’re comfortable using data to inform decisions and identify commercial opportunities

You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international environment

You’re fluent in English and German
