ABB Robotics seeks an experienced product and portfolio leader to shape the strategy and lifecycle of ABB’s Automotive offering portfolio, with a focus on Assembly Solutions. You will work across Sales, R&D, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to translate market needs into clear roadmaps and go-to-market plans.

This role requires strong business acumen, 60-70% travel, and a university degree; you will drive profitability and collaborate on global projects in a fast-moving robotics

Formación

  • Several years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, or related technical-commercial roles.
  • Proven track record in product lifecycle management, including market analysis, roadmaps, and launches.
  • Strong business and financial acumen; ability to translate requirements into business cases and specs.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic-thinking, communication, and negotiation skills for cross-functional teams.
  • University degree in Engineering, Business Admin, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish highly recommended; additional languages a plus.
  • Knowledge of Automotive market and Assembly Solutions exposure is valued.
  • Travel requirements: 60-70%.

  • Ensure alignment with customer needs, market trends, and Business Line objectives; drive profitable growth from analysis to phase-out.
  • Serve as the key interface between market and internal functions (Sales, R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain).
  • Translate market needs into product requirements, plans, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Own offering strategy, business plan, and product roadmap; manage lifecycle and profitability targets.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market plans, launches, sales tools, and training; support negotiations and global projects.

This Position Reports To

Global Ops leader for Automotve Robotics

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to define and drive the strategy, positioning, and lifecycle of ABB’s offering portfolio for the Automotive market, with a particular focus on Assembly Solutions. You will ensure alignment with customer needs, market trends, and Business Line objectives and will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of the assigned offering, from market analysis and product development through launch, commercialization, maintenance, and phase-out.

You will act as the key interface between the market and internal functions, including Sales, R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain Management, translating market needs into clear product requirements, business plans, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For
  • Leading market intelligence, customer-needs and competitive analysis to identify portfolio gaps, define market segmentation, positioning, value propositions, and new business opportunities.
  • Owning the offering strategy, business plan, and product roadmap, translating market requirements into technical and commercial specifications in close collaboration with Sales, R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain Management.
  • Managing the complete offering lifecycle—from development and stage-gate approval through launch, enhancement, cost optimization, obsolescence, and phase-out—ensuring achievement of scope, timing, cost, investment, and payback targets.
  • Taking ownership of offering profitability by defining pricing strategies, reference prices, cost and margin targets, monitoring global sales and tender performance, and driving recovery actions when required.
  • Developing and implementing go-to-market plans, product launches, sales and tendering tools, and training activities, while supporting strategic opportunities, critical negotiations, and global or cross-border projects.
Qualifications For The Role
  • You have several years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, Business Development, or a comparable technical-commercial role within Automotive industrial automation, robotics, or a related technology environment.
  • You have a proven track record in product lifecycle management, including market analysis, roadmap definition, new product development, launch, pricing, profitability, and phase-out.
  • You demonstrate strong business and financial acumen and can translate customer and market requirements into clear business cases, technical specifications, and prioritized development plans.
  • You have strong analytical, strategic-thinking, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence international and cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • You hold a university degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline—or have equivalent professional experience
  • You are fluent in English and Spanish is highly recommended. Additional languages will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Automotive market, including its customer expectations, technology landscape, and project-specific requirements, is highly valued. Previous exposure to Assembly Solutions would be an advantage.
  • Travel requirements: 60-70%
