Hispasat, part of SpaceRISE, seeks a 5G CN & Network Senior Engineer in Arganda del Rey, Madrid, to define and integrate 5G Core networks for the IRIS² project. You will shape architecture, interfaces, and validation plans for satellite-terrestrial 5G integration.

The role requires 3–5 years in telecom networks, strong 5G Core/RAN knowledge, and experience with NFV/SDN, cloud platforms, and orchestration. Fluency in English is essential; EU nationality and clearance are required.

Formación

• Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications networks.
• Strong knowledge of mobile-network architecture, including Core Network, RAN and ancillary services.
• Experience with 5G Core architecture and 3GPP Core Network functions.
• Expert knowledge of terrestrial 3GPP standards and familiarity with 3GPP NTN evolution.
• Experience with resource allocation, service orchestration and control-plane interfaces.
• Experience in development, integration and testing of 4G or 5G systems.
• Knowledge of virtualization, NFV, SDN and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-native network functions, containers and orchestration is an asset.
• Knowledge of satellite communications and satellite-terrestrial network integration.
• Experience in managing or coordinating technology projects.
• Nationality of an EU Member State and willingness to undergo an EU Secret clearance process.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.

• Support the resolution of technical anomalies during validation and operations.

Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.

To be part of this project, we are looking for 5G CN & Network Senior Engineer. The responsibilities of the position are as follows:

• Define 5G Core Network requirements for the IRIS² multi-orbit satellite system.
• Define the high-level hardware and software architecture of the 5G Core Network and associated network functions and interfaces.
• Define implementation, integration and test plans for the proposed 5G Core and network subsystems.
