Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) / University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) invites applications for a First Stage Researcher to support computational chemistry tasks in the lab. The successful candidate will work on molecular dynamics and analysis of intrinsically disordered proteins and lipid bilayers, with duties compatible with pursuing a master's programme.

Applicants should have a strong undergraduate record and have taken a bioinformatics-related course.

Formación

• Average mark of 7.60 or higher in undergraduate record.
• Language skills required: English B2 or higher, Catalan C1 or higher, German A2 or higher.
• Experience in molecular dynamics simulations and parameterisation for residues and lipids.

The successful candidate will:

Provide support for research tasks in the computational lab

Use computational techniques to study intrinsically disordered proteins and lipid bilayers.

Their duties will be compatible with taking a master's programme.

Have an average mark of 7.60 or higher in their undergraduate academic record

Have taken a subject/course in bioinformatics or a similar field.

Language requirements:

Candidates must accredit the following language skills:

B2 English or higher

C1 Catalan or higher

A2 German or higher.

Experience requirements:

The successful candidate must have experience in:

Molecular dynamics simulations and non-standard residue and lipid parameterisation

Linux environments and different software suites, including Gromacs, VMD, PyMol, Gnuplot and XmGrace.

Additional Information

Gross monthly salary: 1.832,23 €

Monday, November 15, 2027

Compensation may be higher where the successful candidate accredits recognised professional experience.

Eligibility criteria

• Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points).
• Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points).
• Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points).
• Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points), < 3 years (5 points).
• Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters.

Eligibility threshold: 60 points.

Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non-EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non-EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. The equivalence can be requested from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain.
