JOB DESCRIPTION

Candidates are sought to apply for external funding for a position as a computer technician in the High Content Genomics and Bioinformatics Unit of the IGTP. If evaluated positively you will join the unit to perform tasks related to bioinformatics data Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research center located on the Can Ruti Biomedical Campus Badalona near Barcelona. The IGTP focuses its research on improving the care and life of patients. The institute is attached to one of the largest teaching hospitals in the Barcelona area the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (HUGTP) located on the surrounding biomedical Campus Can Ruti. The IGTP is a CERCA center; member of the biocluster supported and supervised by the Generalitat de Catalunya. It is also accredited as a Center of Excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (Spanish Government) and in this sense acts as an umbrella organization for scientific research on campus where it works closely with other centers located and in particular genomics is a research area shared by many research groups on the Can Ruti campus that make usehe services offered by the Unit.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preprocessing and quality control of genomic data
• Bioinformatics and integrative analysis of genomic epigenomic metagenomic transcriptomic metabolic and proteomic data.
• Communication with users (biomedical researchers) and preparation of results reports.
• Maintenance of data repository and documentation of bioinformatics procedures and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE

• Bachelors degree in Bioinformatics or related areas
• Demonstrable practical knowledge of statistics and use and / or development of bioformatics tools
• Knowledge of R python perl bash awk programming and experience as an advanced Linux system user Previous experience in data analysis in multidisciplinary research environments will be valued and / or studies towards a masters degree in bioinformatics

• Type of contract and working hours. : 3-year contract (subject to obtaining funding through a competitive application).
• Date of incorporation : After funding is awarded to the candidate (if awarded). Estimated : last quarter 2026.
• Gross remuneration : Annual brute salary starting at 24.400 distributed in 12 payments (provided funding is obtained amounting to 18.800 / year).
• Flexible payment.
• 23 days holiday and 5 days for personal matters 2 days for Easter 2 days for Christmas.
