SCHOOL OF TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING - VIGO in Spain seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical solutions for electronic equipment and advanced systems. You will translate requirements into manufacturable components and assemblies, develop 3D models and drawings, and validate designs with simulations.

Responsibilities include collaborating with hardware/firmware/software teams, selecting materials, coordinating with suppliers, and preparing technical documentation.

Offer Description

Design mechanical solutions for electronic equipment and advanced systems, translating requirements into manufacturable components and assemblies.

Develop 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.

Perform structural simulations with HyperMesh or equivalent tools to validate and optimize designs.

Manufacture, assemble, and validate prototypes using additive manufacturing and other prototyping techniques.

Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams on system integration, troubleshooting issues, and improving the design.

Select materials, components, and manufacturing processes, coordinating with suppliers throughout development.

If necessary, candidates must meet the requirements to apply for their HPS.

Item 01: Academic background and other courses. Verifiable professional experience (at least 2 years). Knowledge of languages (Spanish, English, Galician) with practical application in a professional setting. (punctuation: 30)

Item 02: At least 2 years of proven experience in the mechanical design of equipment or products, using SolidWorks to develop parts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings, and actively participating from the definition of the solution through the validation of the prototype. (punctuation: 25)

Item 03: Experience in structural simulation using HyperMesh or equivalent CAE tools, additive manufacturing, material selection, and optimization of solutions based on criteria such as strength, weight, manufacturability, and integration with electronic systems. (punctuation: 20)

Item 04: Experience in preparing technical engineering documentation, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs); liaising with suppliers for prototype manufacturing; and identifying technical solutions, demonstrating organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound technical judgment. (punctuation: 10)

Item 05: Personal interview. The interview will be conducted only with those candidates whose total merit score reaches a minimum of 50 points. (punctuation: 15)
