Universidade de Vigo invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) Master position in the Signal and Communications Theory group. The role focuses on quantum communication and quantum key distribution (QKD) systems.

Duties include literature review, implementation in fiber and free-space, electronic card design, and protocol simulations. The successful candidate will contribute to experimental research and participate in an interview-based merit evaluation.

Offer Description

Duties to be performed:

Specific responsibilities and tasks will include, among others:

Read scientific literature in the field of quantum communication and quantum key distribution (QKD) systems.

Implementation of novel quantum communication systems in fiber and compatible with free space.

Design and implementation of electronic cards for the system.

Simulation of the behavior of the protocol in a fiber channel.

Characterization and implementation in the system of the optical components, i.e. laser, single photon detectors, etc.

Item 01: University Education (punctuation: 35)

Item 03: Experience and publications in experimental research on quantum key distribution. (punctuation: 25)

Item 04: Personal interview. The interview will be held only for the candidates who obtain a minimum of 50 points when adding all the merits. (punctuation: 15)
