Job summary

TDC NET is seeking a Workload Virtualization Lead to drive the migration from proprietary hypervisors to open, automated virtualization platforms. You will design and operate robust VM platforms across VMware, XCP-ng, Proxmox, and KubeVirt in a hybrid, cloud-native environment.

This role blends leadership with technical depth to guide cross-functional teams, implement IaC and GitOps, and ensure VMs and containers coexist with high availability.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with enterprise virtualization and cloud-native mindset.
• Strong automation via IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Define target architecture for VM workloads across VMware, XCP-ng, KubeVirt.
• Plan and execute migrations from VMware to open virtualization stacks at scale.
• Design HA, clustering, live migration, and DR for virtualized infra.
• Deliver IaC for VM lifecycle with Terraform and Ansible.
• Integrate VM workloads with monitoring, CI/CD and GitOps.
• Collaborate with compute, storage, network, and SRE teams.
• Guide teams on choosing platform for workloads; balance containers vs VMs.
• Champion DevOps, GitOps, and automation-first operating model.
