Job summary

Sommerset Engineering AS is seeking a Technical Designer/Technical Engineer to translate ideas into precise drawings and documentation for pharmaceutical, energy, marine, infrastructure, and construction projects. Qualifications

• Qualified as a technical designer, drafter, production technologist, or mechanical engineer.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD and documentation control.
• Structured, independent, detail-oriented with traceability and quality in deliverables.
• Understand the link between design, fabrication, installation and operation.
• Collaborate across disciplines and proactively seek input when clarification is needed.
• Clear written and spoken Danish and English communication.
• Experience with industrial plants, piping, mechanical installations or complex construction is a plus.

Technical Designer/Technical Engineer — From Concept to Precise, Practical Documentation

Can you turn technical ideas and requirements into precise drawings, models and documentation that work in practice? At Sommerset Engineering, you will take ownership of your own deliverables in technically demanding projects across pharmaceutical, energy, marine, infrastructure and complex construction. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, clients and suppliers, following solutions from initial sketches through to final project and production documentation.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, layouts and technical documentation for design, production, installation and operation.
• Translate client requirements, calculations and technical input into clear, coordinated solutions in close collaboration with the project disciplines.
• Quality-assure drawings, bills of materials, specifications and revision records, ensuring that documentation meets applicable standards and project requirements.
• Plan and follow up on your own deliverables and coordinate changes and interfaces with engineers, clients, suppliers, contractors and other advisers.

Your profile:

• You are qualified as a technical designer, drafter, production technologist, mechanical engineer or have a comparable technical background. Experience is an advantage, but the quality and accuracy of your work and your ability to turn input into usable documentation are equally important.
• You have experience with 2D and 3D CAD and are confident working with technical drawings, models, layouts and document control. Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, Plant 3D or comparable tools is relevant.
• You work in a structured and independent way, pay attention to detail and ensure consistency, traceability and quality in your deliverables.
• You understand the relationship between design, fabrication, installation and operation and ask the questions that make solutions more robust and practical.
• You collaborate naturally across disciplines, share your knowledge and follow up proactively when input or clarification is needed.
• You communicate clearly in written and spoken Danish and English.
• Experience with industrial plants, piping, mechanical installations, complex construction, production or commissioning would be an advantage but is not essential.
