Job summary

Convatec is seeking a Production Technician to ensure production equipment is running at optimal capacity and quality. You will perform preventive maintenance, document repairs, and work with cross-shift teams to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have automation or electrical backgrounds, experience with regulated environments, and knowledge of GMP/ISO basics. The role focuses on reliable equipment, strict documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Trained automation technician, electrician, or similar background.
• Experience in a production environment, preferably in regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize production equipment to ensure capacity and quality.
• Document all repairs and maintenance in the CMMS (Maximo) system.
• Prepare and execute preventive maintenance per plan and SOPs.
• Coordinate with shifts to minimize downtime and communicate actions.
• Participate in equipment validation and change control as required.

Position Overview

As Production Technician your responsible is to secure that equipment in the production is functional and in optimal condition to perform the capacity and quality as agreed, and to do preventive maintenance according to maintenance plan.

Key Responsibilities

Technicians’ day shift (responsible)

• Maintain machine equipment according to the effective maintenance procedure
• Develop/optimize maintenance procedures
• Minimize disposal on the equipment
• Maximize the output on the equipment
• Continuous follow up on the equipment efficiency in general and after operational disturbances
• Secure training of personnel in production to make sure that they are able to react on a high error rate and to repair the error by them selves
• Participate making SOP’s to help other technicians and team members
• Ensure that technicians on the other shifts are informed about actions and problems with the equipment.
• Collect information from other shifts according to operations of the equipment’s
• Attend and plan machine meetings together with team members
• Make ongoing activities on the equipment visible
• Attend in daily production follow up together with team members
• Prioritize and plan various tasks in collaboration with team members
• Educate/train colleagues in the process equipment
• Receive training on other process equipment
• Ensure that various consumables and mostly replaceable components are available
• Perform revalidation in collaboration with validation team
• Secure that changes/replacement on validated equipment is documented according to the effective procedure
• Responsible for order around own work and to comply with the hygiene regulations while you repair
• Attend in technicians’ meetings and board meetings in production
• Document all repair events and maintenance observations in Maximo according to procedure.

Technicians other shifts

• Minimize disposal on the equipment
• Maximize the output on the equipment
• Continuous follow up on the equipment efficiency in general and after operational disturbances

• Ensure delivery of daily information to machine responsible technicians about the operation on various equipment between shifts
• Receive information about the operation from the technicians on day shift
• Provide input to optimization the equipment
• Give information to machine responsible technicians if there is missing or will be missing spare parts
• Give information to responsible technicians if you observe that parts on the production equipment need to be changed but you are not able to do it on your shift
• Secure that changes/replacement on validated equipment is documented according to the effective procedure
• Responsible for order around own work and to comply with the hygiene regulations when you repair
• Receive training in production equipment on day shift
• Attend technicians’ meetings and board meetings in production.
• Document all repair events and maintenance observations in Maximo according to procedure.

Skills & Experience

• You are a trained automation technician, electrician or similar background.
• You have experience from a production company, within either the medico, medical device or pharma industry, alternatively another industry with legislative regulations and associated documentation

Qualifications/Education

• Education as automatic mechanic, machine worker, industrial electrician, or other similar relevant education (Required)
• Knowledge of pneumatics and PLC control (Required)
• Experience from cleanroom production (Preferred)
• Experience from Medico or other regulated industry (Preferred)
• Intermediate English, Verbal and written (Required)
• Knowledge of basic requirements in FDAs QSR, GMP and ISO 13485 or similar (Preferred)
