Job summary

Saildrone Europe is hiring a Technical Operations Engineer to join our European Fleet Management team. You will report to the Danish Operations Director and support autonomy-ready vehicles from production to deployment in harsh maritime environments.

Based in Copenhagen, you’ll work with cross‑functional teams to improve reliability, performance, and safety while traveling up to 30% for field operations and deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Robotics, Software, Aerospace or related).
• 2+ years supporting complex embedded systems, robotics, or autonomous hardware in production or field environments.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics: resolve hardware, software, and networking issues with Linux tools and telemetry.
• Technical Accountability for vehicle reliability, performance, and readiness (SLIs/SLOs).
• Root Cause Analysis for field failures and corrective actions across design and tooling.
• Collaborate with Engineering on system architecture and testing.
• Support global deployments; up to 30% travel for vehicle prep, troubleshooting, and mission execution.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for real‑time troubleshooting.
• Develop clear work instructions and technical guidance for scalable operations.
• Maintain records and inventories following safety procedures.
