Job description

Do you want to build real backend experience alongside your studies?

Join Energy Asset Integration & Operations and work hands-on with backend development, data pipelines and automation that support trading, forecasting and operations. You will contribute to real software from day one while learning from experienced developers around you.

The team

Energy Asset Integration & Operations supports several parts of client onboarding and operations, with a particular focus on Flexibility, PtX and BESS. The team makes external data available for processes such as contract pricing, asset trading and client settlement. We are a software-heavy organisation with several systems and developers, focused on delivering robust data and reducing complexity for the teams that depend on it.

Your role

As a Student Software Developer, you will primarily work with backend development in our Market Communication platform. You will contribute to software and data flows used across the business and gain practical experience with development, testing, deployment and troubleshooting in an operational environment.

The role gives you the opportunity to build your technical skills while taking responsibility for your own tasks and working closely with experienced developers.

Key responsibilities
  • You will work across software development, data processing and operational support, with a focus on building reliable solutions and ensuring the right data reaches the right teams.
  • Develop and maintain software in our Market Communication platform, primarily within backend development.
  • Contribute to data pipelines that ingest and process meter data from external sources.
  • Build and improve tools and automations used across trading, forecasting and operations.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation and deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot and analyse issues related to data delivery and system performance.
  • Collaborate with neighbouring teams to ensure they receive the right data at the right time.

This is a great opportunity to develop your technical skills by working closely with experienced developers and contributing to real software and data challenges.
