Job summary

Arla Foods in Denmark is seeking a Student Assistant for the Inbound Route Planning team in Viby. The role offers 10–15 hours per week during studies and involves supporting daily transport planning and analysis within a busy dairy network.

You will work closely with planners, drivers and external partners, travel to sites as needed, and contribute to process improvements through digitalization and AI. Ideal candidates are enrolled in relevant master’s or final-year programs and fluent in Danish

• Have at least one year remaining of your studies.
• Fluent in Danish and English.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations in Inbound Route Planning.
• Handle incoming calls and enquiries from drivers, dairies and external partners.
• Assist planners and the operational team with day-to-day tasks.
• Follow up on operational activities and support reporting processes.
• Support data analysis and optimisation initiatives when relevant.
• Participate in projects and development initiatives across the organisation.
• Prepare reports, presentations and support material for the team.

Then join our Inbound Route Planning team at Arla Foods in Viby.

Every year, we collect approximately 5 billion kilograms of milk from 1,750 farmer owners and transport it safely to more than 20 dairies across our network. With around 320 drivers, 100 trucks and 8,000 weekly milk collections, our operation runs 24Student assisstant Inbound Route Planning/7, 365 days a year.

In Inbound Route Planning, we plan and coordinate around 150 daily transports between dairies, warehouses and external partners. Plans often change throughout the day, which means we constantly work to manage deviations, optimise transportation flows and ensure the most efficient utilisation of our fleet. Our goal is always the same delivering to the right dairy at the right time, while minimising unnecessary kilometres and empty runs.

As a Student Assistant, you will become an integrated part of our daily planning operation and work closely with planners, drivers, dairies and external partners. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in transportation planning while supporting the daily execution of a complex logistics operation.

How Will You Make An Impact

As our Student Assistant, you will support both daily operations and development activities within Inbound Route Planning.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Supporting the daily operation alongside our Inbound Route Planning team.
• Handling incoming calls and enquiries from drivers, dairies and external partners.
• Assisting planners and the operational team with various day-to-day tasks.
• Following up on operational activities and supporting reporting processes.
• Optimizing processes through digitalization and AI.
• Contributing to the identification and implementation of process improvements.
• Supporting data analysis and optimisation initiatives when relevant.
• Participating in projects and development initiatives across the organization.
• Preparing reports, presentations and support material for the team.

Some travel to our sites in Taulov and Nr. Vium should be expected.

The position is approximately 10-15 hours per week with flexibility around studies and exams.
