Job summary

Chainalysis is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Investigations to own technical direction and deliver scalable customer-facing features. You will design and maintain APIs and services, partnering with product managers and designers to leverage our data platform for impactful experiences.

You’ll lead cloud-native data ingest/aggregation, drive features that detect illicit activity, and mentor engineers while advancing streaming architectures and a cross-product graphing platform.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design and implementation of cloud-native services.
• Mentoring engineers and leading cross-team projects.
• Ability to align technical execution with product and design partners.
• Deep experience with object-oriented programming languages; Java and TypeScript preferred.
• 10+ years of experience working on complex backend and/or frontend systems in leadership roles.
• Strong ownership of product ideas from inception through production.
• Good understanding of frontend and backend best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, maintenance and data ingest/aggregation pipelines.
• Drive features detecting illicit activity and other patterns across the product suite.
• Own and scale high-performance AWS services handling thousands of requests/sec.
• Lead modernization towards streaming architecture and set best practices.
• Own and drive the graphing platform used across products.
• Debug production issues across systems and mentor engineers.
• Mentor and grow engineers across the team.
