About the role

As our Staff Engineer - Platform Engineering, you'll drive technical direction across a portfolio of platform capabilities including Cloud Enablement, Container Platform, Edge Platform, Observability, and Hosting Platforms. You'll connect long-term technical strategy with practical execution, helping engineering teams align on architecture, standards, and platform evolution. Working across multiple products and product families, you'll identify opportunities for greater consistency, enable platform adoption at scale, and strengthen technical leadership across the LEGO® Group's Digital Platforms & Infrastructure organization.

Required Qualifications
  • Delivered cloud platform architecture across enterprise-scale environments
  • Built platform engineering capabilities that support multiple engineering teams or products.
  • Led distributed systems and infrastructure engineering initiatives with measurable impact.
  • Established technical direction, standards, or architecture roadmaps across complex technology landscapes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Applied FinOps practices to improve cloud governance and efficiency.
  • Developed or enhanced observability and telemetry platforms supporting large-scale operations.
What you'll build

Establish clear technical direction across the Platform Engineering capability portfolio. Increase alignment across Cloud Enablement, Container Platform, Edge Platform, Observability, and Hosting Platforms. Improve architectural consistency and platform adoption across Digital Technology. Support Lead Engineers in executing strategic technology decisions. Help modernize platform infrastructure while reducing technical debt. Strengthen engineering excellence across cloud, platform, and infrastructure domains.

Life on the team

You’ll join DX & Cloud Foundation within Digital Platforms & Infrastructure. The team provides the foundations that enable engineering teams across Digital Technology to build, operate, and scale digital products effectively. We work in a hybrid rhythm across locations and disciplines, staying connected through capability communities, architecture forums, planning processes, and close collaboration with engineering leaders and product teams. You’ll have opportunities to coach others, guide organizational changes, apply systems thinking, and build trusted partnerships across teams. Knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement are part of how we work every day. This position will be in our LEGO® Hub in Copenhagen, soon moving to Postbyen. The work environment is exciting, inspiring, and flexible - and we like to have fun along the way!

What success looks like

Success means becoming a trusted technical leader across Platform Engineering capabilities and helping teams adopt architecture decisions consistently. You’ll contribute to expanding cloud and platform capabilities, advancing observability and operational excellence initiatives, improving engineering productivity, and evolving cloud governance and platform standards. Along the way, you’ll work closely with Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, and Engineering Directors to shape the future of platform engineering across Digital Technology.
