Job summary

NNIT is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to operate an on-prem Kubernetes platform for a Danish customer. You will maintain and optimize Kubernetes clusters, collaborate with application developers and the infrastructure provider to ensure reliability and scalability, and lead platform changes.

You will design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes environments, working closely with customer teams to ensure optimal performance and uptime in an on-prem setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role in a cloud-native focused environment.
• Kubernetes certification (CKA) or equivalent proven expertise.
• Experience with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven experience in ITIL service processes and security best practices for Kubernetes deployments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze system performance; identify bottlenecks and optimize clusters.
• Handle incident response and on-call rotations for critical incidents.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting; stay proactive on reliability.
• Design, deploy, and manage changes to on-prem Kubernetes clusters.

Within the DevOps organization we are revolutionizing the way businesses manage and deploy software and infrastructure. We specialize in providing Cloud-native solutions, enabling our clients to harness the power of Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices.

For one of our Danish customers we are looking for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to operate an on-prem Kubernetes Platform for one customer, and deliver on service/change requests. You can work day‑to‑day as a Site Reliability Engineer and would like to move into Platform Engineering or work as a Platform Engineer today and be motivated by IT Operations.

As a Site Reliability Engineer specializing in on-prem Kubernetes at NNIT, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the Customer’s Kubernetes clusters deployed on-prem. You will also be responsible for collaborating with the Customer’s Application developers and the Infrastructure Provider to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of the Kubernetes Platform. As a Platform Engineer you lead the implementation and management of changes. You will design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes environments that meet our clients’ specific needs and work closely with the Customer’s application development team to ensure optimal performance, scalability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze system performance metrics; identify and address performance bottlenecks.
• Incident response and on‑call to resolve critical incidents.
• Continuously improve monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes.
• Improve robustness of Kubernetes Clusters to bring critical issues to zero and therefore minimize on‑call needs.
• Design, deploy, and manage changes to the on‑prem Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with development teams to onboard applications onto Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize how applications perform on Kubernetes.
• Develop automation tools and workflows for Kubernetes configuration, deployment, and monitoring.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in cloud‑native and container orchestration.

Requirements

• Proven experience with on‑prem Kubernetes, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with managing on‑prem Kubernetes clusters for production environments.
• Proven experience with Linux system administration and networking concepts.
• Experience with on‑prem infrastructure management.
• Experience with containerization technologies.
• GitOps approach to all changes you do (configuration as code, version managed and automated deployments).
• Proficiency in declarative approaches and automation using tools such as Jsonnet, ArgoCD, Ansible, Terraform, and Python scripting.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment and communicate effectively with the customer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, in a cloud‑native focused environment.
• Kubernetes certification (Certified Kubernetes Administrator – CKA).
• Experience with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven experience in ITIL service processes.
• Knowledge of security best practices for Kubernetes deployments.
• Datatekniker specialised in infrastructure, bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related education.
