Are you ready to lead a team at the heart of analytical characterisation?

Are you an experienced people leader who can bring a newly established scientific team together and deliver reliable analytical results at scale? Join Analytical Characterisation within Global Manufacturing & Supply and help shape how we support product development and manufacturing across Novo Nordisk.

The Position

As Senior Manager, you will lead a newly established team of 23 experienced scientists, specialists and technicians working with biophysical analysis and the characterisation of liquid and solid dosage forms. Your team handles the largest sample volume in the department, making clear priorities, high-quality results and timely reporting essential for our customers.

You will report to the Director of Analytical Characterisation and join the department leadership team alongside four Senior Manager colleagues. Together, you will set direction for the team and strengthen collaboration across R&D, CMC and Global Manufacturing & Supply.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, develop and unite a team of 23 scientists, specialists and technicians, building trust, setting clear expectations and giving constructive feedback
  • Prioritise a high volume of analytical work and ensure timely, reliable reporting so customers can make informed decisions
  • Set measurable goals, monitor deliverables and translate departmental and broader strategic priorities into practical plans for the team
  • Support the development of analytical methods and improve ways of working across the team and department
  • Drive initiatives that support the GMS and CMC strategy and build capacity for the future product pipeline
  • Work closely with internal and external customers to support product development, quality investigations and documentation for regulatory submissions

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for an experienced leader who can combine clear direction with an approachable and consistent style. You bring people together, develop their strengths and follow through on commitments while responding to changing customer needs. You also:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry or a related field
  • Have at least three years of experience leading highly scientific or technical teams in pharmaceutical development or manufacturing
  • Have demonstrated ability to develop people, build collaboration and deliver results through others
  • Can balance a high volume of operational work with longer-term goals and maintain reliable delivery as priorities change
  • Can set measurable goals, follow up on results and turn strategy into practical plans for your team
  • Communicate clearly and build strong relationships across functions and with stakeholders at different levels

Familiarity with analytical work and the team’s scientific disciplines is an advantage. Above all, you know how to build trust and engagement, give both constructive and appreciative feedback, and create the conditions for your team to perform and grow.

About the Department

Analytical Characterisation is part of the CMC VP area Analysis & Characterisation within Global Manufacturing & Supply. Based in Måløv, the department provides advanced analyses that inform decisions across development and manufacturing.

The team combines biophysical analysis with the characterisation of liquid and solid dosage forms. Its work supports product development, investigations of quality issues and documentation for regulatory submissions.

You will join an ambitious scientific environment and a leadership team that works across R&D, CMC and Global Manufacturing & Supply. Your leadership will shape the team’s delivery and the way it develops for future needs.
