Job summary

Aarhus University Hospital's Department of Molecular Medicine (MOMA) is seeking an experienced software developer for a full-time, permanent position (37 hours/week) starting October 2026 or as soon as possible, thereafter. You will join a closely integrated team working on bioinformatics pipelines and IT solutions for clinical diagnostics in an NGS laboratory.

You will collaborate with clinical academics, laboratory scientists and medical doctors, contributing to interdisciplinary projects

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or related field.
• Strong Python programming experience.
• Solid bash scripting, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and BDD skills.
• Experience with Linux containers (Docker/Podman).
• DevOps practices, Linux, and Git-based workflows.
• Interest in bioinformatics and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bioinformatics pipelines and IT solutions for clinical diagnostics and research in an NGS laboratory.
• Collaborate closely with clinical academics, laboratory scientists and medical doctors, providing technical support and ensuring solutions meet user needs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary projects across the hospital, university and national partners.
• Contribute to project management activities as opportunities arise.
