Job summary

Semco Maritime is seeking a Site Engineer, Mechanical for its Renewables division. You will join an experienced team responsible for offshore substations and transmission projects, coordinating mechanical systems installation, commissioning, and startup across global sites.

The role involves international travel, offshore/onshore work, and a strong safety culture. You will collaborate with engineering and procurement to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to design changes while developing

  • Plan with Engineering on design changes and other topics.
  • Run start-up and commissioning of mechanical systems.

Your position

As our new Site Engineer, Mechanical at Semco Maritime you will join an experienced, highly skilled and passionate team of engineers in our Renewables division. This team has been responsible for creating one of the largest project portfolios within offshore substations worldwide.

At Semco Maritime safety is a core value, and in this role, you will contribute to maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture while delivering innovative solutions. Above all, your work will make a real change for the global energy sector.

We are working on sites globally in our markets, including Europe, Asia and the USA. So, traveling work is the standard and we work both offshore and onshore.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

You will be involved in the construction of offshore substation for windfarms and distribution/transmission projects world-wide. You, together with your team will be responsible for installations, tests, and commissioning of mechanical systems such as ventilation systems, cooling systems, fire extinguishing system, diesel generator system and fuel system.

Your Tasks Will Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Coordinating and managing daily site activities for 4-10 skilled workers
  • Ensuring that the project activities adhere to the schedule and activities are planned accordingly
  • Coordinate and plan with installation suppliers / yard / partners
  • Purchase and overseeing the timely delivery of materials and coordination with vendors
  • Plan and align with Engineering department on changes in design and/or other topics
  • Ad-hoc daily tasks and problem solving
  • Run and manage start-up and commissioning of mechanical systems
Your Profile & Qualifications

To Succeed In This Position, We Expect That You
  • Preferred to have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, marine engineering or similar
  • Have prior hands‑on experience with some of the mechanical systems
  • Have experience working with staff and supplier contracts
  • Possess a safety‑first mindset
  • Would like to work in an international setting where a lot of traveling is required to go to the sites
  • Have effective interpersonal skills and great communication skills in English
