Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of native Windows desktop applications for the Aarhus-based team. You will shape architecture, champion accessibility, and collaborate with product designers, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop development with Windows App SDK/WinUI/C#/XAML and native C++.
• Strong understanding of interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production-quality desktop applications with reliability and performance.
• Experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and accessible UI design.
• Excellent fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, and memory management.
• Experience leading design, mentoring, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• User-centric mindset for polished, accessible user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or related UI frameworks), C#, XAML, and when needed C++.
• Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase including performance, memory usage, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts: integrate and validate accessibility APIs and ensure keyboard navigation and screen-reader support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for the Windows platform.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks; propose robust architectural solutions.
