Job description

At COP, we’re here to unlock the full potential of offshore wind to power the world, and there’s no time to waste.

As part of our team, you’ll work on market-leading projects with some of the most experienced and passionate people in the industry. Together, we get stuff done and own the impact of our work, with respect and safety always at the core. Founded in 2015, we are the exclusive offshore wind development partner to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the world’s largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield energy investments.

So, if you are ready to go further than you ever imagined, we are eager to hear from you and encourage you to apply.

The role:

We are looking for a Senior Wind & Energy Engineer to join our European team, based in Scotland or Denmark. This is a senior role, suited to a candidate with approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience in wind resource, energy yield assessment, windfarm design, or offshore wind project development. You will support early offshore wind project development, site and PPA auctions, M&A due diligence, and project assessment and valuation across the European portfolio and selected wider markets. The role will also contribute to windfarm engineering activities, including windfarm layout optimisation, technical concept development and associated engineering management.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and optimise the windfarm design concept, including capacity, wind turbine model, layout, BoP design concepts and grid connection options for offshore windfarm projects.
  • Undertake rapid energy yield scenario development and optimisation analyses and review external energy yield assessments.
  • Develop wind measurement strategies and support their realisation, including coordination of technical inputs and project requirements.
  • Support European project development activities as well as future auctions, due diligence assignments and potential new markets.
  • Coordinate with project teams, technical specialists, engineering and consenting colleagues, external designers, suppliers, JV partners and investors.
  • Prepare relevant documentation, reports, option analyses, decision material and supporting assessments appropriate to the project maturity stage.
  • Communicate technical results, options, advantages and disadvantages clearly and concisely to support project and business case decisions.
Your experience:
  • A renewable energy engineering degree, preferably with a major offshore wind component.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience in offshore wind, wind resource assessment, energy yield, windfarm design, or related project development activities.
  • Broad understanding of offshore wind technologies, with particular interest in energy yield, windfarm layout, and production optimisation.
  • Awareness of windfarm constraints, including technical site conditions, permitting considerations, and investor or lender requirements.
  • Collaborative mindset, strong analytical ability, clear communication skills, and motivation to grow into a broader windfarm design and engineering role.
