Job summary

Terma Group is seeking a Software Safety Engineer in Denmark to lead safety software assurance for mission-critical defense systems. You will define safety plans, perform hazard analyses, and ensure compliance with standards such as IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882E, and DO-178C.

Collaboration with V&V and cross-functional teams is essential. You should bring 5–8 years in system safety engineering for software-intensive systems, plus embedded systems expertise and experience in safety-critical

Qualifications

Degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
5–8 years in system safety engineering for software-intensive systems.
Leadership in safety-critical projects and strategic decision-making.
Prior defense/aerospace experience desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead safety software assurance activities: create safety plans, verification & validation plans, and safety cases.
Perform software hazard analysis, FMEA, fault tree analysis; ensure safety integrity levels.
Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882E, DO-178C; support safety assessments and audits.
Coordinate with V&V to verify safety from unit to system level; maintain traceability.
Support code reviews, static/dynamic analysis, automated testing from a safety perspective.
Collaborate with developers, systems engineers and hardware teams to embed safety.
Contribute to new tools and processes, including safety management platforms.
